It's huge! I don't know what happened with other peoples shipment, maybe Amazon changed the process, but my desk was shipped by a freight company and was on a pallet. I had no damage from shipment, plus I got free shipping! The desk itself is very well made for particle board. The pieces are thick and dense, very heavy (almost 200lbs). Went together very easily. Just keep in mind that this great price is due to the fact that you have no storage without additional purchases. This is common sense, but I was kind of blinded by the great price of this desk, and once assembled I started using it I thought to myself "O that's how they keep the price down... the accessories" So keep that in mind, you will need to spend some additional money on this Boss Delubye Pedestal 15-1/2 W by 22 D Full Boby/Boby/File, Cherry if you'd like a built in look. But over all this and the return that go with it are great for the price.ASSEMBLY TIP: The desk top will scratch easy during assembly if you're not careful, so use the Styrofoam packing material on the floor to protect your desk top.
